Supply Standards

Our Supply Standards

The purpose of our Primary Connect Supply Standards document is to provide a clear, comprehensive guide for our supply partners to support the safe and efficient flow of product through our network.

More specifically, this document is intended to ensure that:

  • Our customers can consistently find safe, high quality, accurately labelled product in our stores
  • Our store teams can safely and efficiently handle replenished product
  • Our distribution centre and transport teams can process pallets and trade units while working to minimise the risk of injuries, product damage, pallet collapses, Chain of Responsibility breaches, rework, automation stoppages
  • Our supply partners can readily prepare product that aligns with the requirements of Woolworths Group network — helping to avoid the costs of rejection, rework, redelivery and potential missed sales — to support strong availability of their brands and products on shelf
  • We have consolidated multiple legacy documents to provide a more cohesive, up-to-date reference guide
  • Wherever possible and practical, our supply chain requirements are closely aligned to emerging industry standards and sustainability developments.

Supplier Collaboration & Reporting tool (SCoRe)

SCoRe is the online system that Primary Connect uses to communicate delivery non-conformance issues with our supply partners. SCoRe is also the mechanism by which issues can be discussed and resolved, and those resolutions and corrective actions communicated back to the originating distribution centre (DC) teams.

As deliveries are made into the Primary Connect DC network, DC team members are able to record quality problems and non-conformance issues that they observe (whether at the level of the vehicle, the pallet/logistic unit or the carton/trade unit) — capturing the specific issue along with any supporting details such as Purchase Order, GTIN, Vehicle Registration, date and time.

Supply partners receive automated notification that issues have occurred; those emails also include explanations of the relevant non-conformance, and links to documents/videos to help diagnose and resolve the issues.

When supply partners access SCoRe, they are presented with real-time analysis of performance across all DCs and all inbound loads, with specific details of all reported issues and a dashboard with metrics showing scale and type of issues, and percentage of issues relative to total volume.

Australian Food & Grocery Council

AFGC Trading Partner Forum

Woolworths Group is proud to partner with the Australian Food & Grocery Council’s Trading Partner Forum in working to drive efficiency and simplicity across the FMCG supply chain.

The Trading Partner Forum brings together representatives from the major retailers, suppliers and manufacturers — guided by the AFGC Secretariat — to review areas of misalignment and complexity, and work to establish greater standardisation (in non-competitive areas) where practical. Where industry requirements can be successfully standardised, it becomes far simpler and more cost-effective for suppliers and manufacturers to meet those requirements.

Trading Partner Forum resources are free to download from the AFGC website.
